The Colony at White Pine Canyon

Park City, Utah Real Estate | Home Sites and Custom Homes

Music in the Meadow

July 25, 2018 by Molly Miller, Colony PR

Music in the Meadow | July 2018

The first-ever Music in the Meadow was an evening filled with lovely music, delicious food, and a bull moose sighting! The event was held in the Meadow Lakes area of The Colony as a way to introduce the community to the magic of the upper meadow.

The bull moose made itself at home in the lakes during Music in the Meadow.

About 150 guests were ferried by golf cart to Homesite 270 (one of our favorites in the Meadow Lakes) and enjoyed music from Rogers & Buffington, food by Ellie’s, wine by Old Town Cellars, and homemade Ice Cream by Wasatch Creamery Ice Cream Co. Photos were captured by Eclectic Brew Productions.

Meadow Lakes Homesites
The Meadow Lakes Homesites are the initial release of our final chapter here at The Colony – Phase 5. The 12 spectacular homesites skirt the upper meadow of The Colony and offer flat building pads, incredible old-growth forest, and a remarkable water feature with five lakes and a waterfall-dotted stream. Just 5 Meadow Lakes Homesites remain:

267 White Pine Canyon Road
This homesite is tucked among old-growth aspens on a partially-wooded corner lot. It’s an easy build lot with big sky views and ski-in, ski-out access directly outside your door. Such close ski proximity means hiking and biking trails are just as close when the snow melts. Homesite 267 is perhaps the best value to be found in The Colony.
267 WPC Rd: 4.44 acres | Offered at $1.9 million

268 White Pine Canyon Road
Some of the largest aspens in The Colony are found on this homesite, which has exceptional views of the meadow water features. The homesite is nestled on a quiet cul-de-sac, with remarkable ski-in, ski-out access to multiple ski runs.
268 WPC Rd: 2.40 acres | Offered at $2.6 million

Homesite 270 is quiet and private, with marvelous down-meadow views.

269 White Pine Canyon Road
More spectacular down-meadow views overlooking the meadow lakes are found from this homesite, which is partially-wooded with mature, healthy pine and aspen trees. This homesite has terrific ski-in, ski-out access from Quicksilver Gondola and the closest proximity to hiking and biking meadow trails.
269 WPC Rd: 2.42 acres | Offered at $2.5 million

Meadow Lakes

270 White Pine Canyon Road
This is one of our very favorite homesites in The Colony – and the setting for our Music in the Meadow event. The setting is naturally extremely private, with some of the best down-meadow views available, with ski access.
270 WPC Rd: 3.33 Acres | Offered at $2.8 million

273 White Pine Canyon Road
An extremely private corner cul-de-sac homesite, due to its heavily forested setting. It has some of the oldest-growth, largest aspen trees in all of The Colony, and is one of our larger remaining lots available with, of course, ski-in, ski-out access.
273 WPC Rd: 4.74 acres | Offered at $1.9 million

Finally, congratulations to Darhl Bova, winner of our raffle for dinner for four this winter at The Colony Yurt!

FRIDAY JULY 20

“Affirmations” Exhibition
Local Artists Reception
Gallery MAR @ 6PM

Connect with local artists Ron Russon and Cristall Harper at the “Affirmations” local artists reception. (Photo courtesy: Gallery MAR. The work is, “I am Encircled, in oil, by Cristall Harper.)

Cristall Harper has a studio in American Fork, and says she paints the way “a glass artist works: with lots of little shapes of color.” A critic once described her work as “…personal version of abstraction… beautifully rooted in reality.” Her themes are delineated as florals, dogs, and seascapes.

Photo courtesy: Gallery MAR. “Get in Line,” in oil, by Ron Russon.

Ron Russon was born and raised outside of Lehi and his work focuses on wildlife, landscapes, and prairie & farm. He describes himself as “a farmer who paints,” and paints in rural life in a contemporary style.

Meet both artists – and view their work – on Friday night at Gallery MAR.

Niki de Saint Phalle: Freedom Would Be Mine
Community Opening @ 6 PM
Kimball Art Center

Niki de Saint Phalle is considered one of the foremost women artists of the 20th century. Her works as a sculptor, painter, and filmmaker from the 1950s – early 2000s range from intimate to monumental. Her career started with provocative, angry works, with bullseyes over collages, and knives and razor blades embedded in plaster. Over time, though, her work evolved to become joyful, bright sculptures of women. This exhibit, Freedom Would Be Mine, “explores the artist’s radical redefinition of women’s roles and women’s bodies and unveils Saint Phalle’s continual quest for freedom.” Her work will be on display at the Kimball Art Center from July 21 – September 16.

Deer Valley Music Festival
Rick Springfield with the Utah Symphony
Gates open @ 5:30 PM | Show @ 7:30 PM

When you think of the Deer Valley Music Festival, you may think of it like we do – BD and AD (before dancing and after dancing). Our favorite moment at each concert is the one where the night cracks open and people hit the dance floor … er, grass. We have a feeling that the dancing is going to start *really* early when  GRAMMY®-winning singer/songwriter Rick Springfield joins the Utah Symphony. Wear comfy shoes (or not, maybe just flip your shoes off when you’re ready to dance) and start gearing up for “Jessie’s Girl,” along with his other hits.

Park City Event Guide: July 13 – 15, 2018

July 13, 2018 by Molly Miller, Colony PR

Ok. Yeah. This week has been HOT. For those of us who are lucky enough to live in Park City, the need for air conditioning can be a rude awakening, and, since many of us up here don’t have air conditioning, this can make a few people just a little, tiny, teeny bit grumpy.

Luckily, the weekend has arrived, and with it, some of the most fun events to experience in Park City this summer season. Maybe we’ll see you out there this weekend. Watch for us. We’ll be the ones trailing the Wasatch Creamery Ice Cream Co. bike, re-filling our ice cream cone nonstop to keep cool, and loving every minute of it.

Sales Update | Summer 2018

July 10, 2018 by Molly Miller, Colony PR

Land and home sales at The Colony over the past 12 months tell a pretty incredible story – take a few moments to watch our Summer 2018 Sales Update video (below) for an outline. Things continue to move quickly here – in fact, in the time it took to produce this video, two additional lots have closed, and a third homesite – as well as a home – are under contract.

Connect with Bronson Calder and Stephen Jeffers, members of the in-house Colony Sales Team with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Utah, to begin building your legacy at The Colony!

A Colony Sales Team Announcement

July 10, 2018 by Molly Miller, Colony PR

The Colony is pleased to congratulate Bronson Calder, Kurt Peterson, and Stephen Jeffers of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, on their expanded leadership roles at The Colony at White Pine Canyon. Our longtime listing agent, Bob Marsh has elected to relinquish his role as our principal Colony listing agent and Bronson has assumed the lead position on our expanded Colony team, which includes Kurt, Stephen, Bob, and Cindy Salrin.

Bob Marsh and developer Walt Brett conducted an extensive search to find experts who share the philosophy that has made The Colony such a special ski-in, ski-out community. Bronson, Kurt, and Stephen’s enthusiasm, expertise and deep knowledge of Park City and The Colony make them the perfect team to continue The Colony legacy.

The Colony Sales Team
Bronson Calder was born and raised in Park City, steeped in his family’s real estate tradition. Nearly 20 years ago, Bronson formed a business partnership with long-time colleague, Kurt Peterson. The Peterson-Calder Real Estate Group has consistently been in the top 1% of Park City’s agents, with more than 800 transaction sides and approximately $600 million sold.

Stephen Jeffers hails from Lake Tahoe, California. After college, he elected to build on his family’s real estate legacy in the Tahoe/Reno area. Stephen joined The Colony team in 2017 and feels honored to represent our project. He is a descendant of the Condas family, the original landowners of The Colony at White Pine Canyon.

Cindy Salrin got her real estate license in 2008 and has enjoyed her job as a licensed assistant for the past 10 years. Being ensconced in the majestic setting of The Colony makes it easy for her to love her job here – lucky for us because she keeps the entire team together.

Going forward, as Bronson leads the team, he’ll have the benefit of Bob Marsh’s expertise and institutional knowledge. After nearly 20 years of intense focus on building The Colony brand, Bob will switch from overseeing the day-to-day operations to the listing of properties within The Colony. It has been fascinating for Bob to watch this project grow from its humble beginning into what it has become today. Bob’s passion for The Colony continues, and knowing that he will remain on our team providing support and continued involvement with the project and sales team is very reassuring.

Connect with Us
Please reach out to Bronson and the team anytime. They have a presence in The Colony offices 7 days a week. Utilize their knowledge for any questions you may have about our project – real-estate related or not. They are your most knowledgeable and trusted sources for information about this incredible community. We also invite you to follow updates on our website and on our social channels: Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

Sincerely,
Walt Brett and The Colony Team

And – one we’re really looking forward to is the August 22nd show – the Live PC Give PC Community Jam Session! The event will bring local musicians together to celebrate the end of summer.

Food and Beverages
Coolers are welcome, so feel free to pack yours full of snacks, treats, and drinks (glass containers are allowed). Deer Valley’s concession stand operates during the concerts, with food and beverages (including alcohol), available for purchase. Do not – we repeat – do not forget to grab a famous DV cookie to enjoy, whether it’s after dinner, before dinner, or for your dinner. Deer Valley Grocery Café also offers to-go items to grab on your way up to the resort.

Picnic Bags
You can also take advantage of a pre-made picnic bag, prepared by Deer Valley and ready for you to pick up at the concert! Vegetarian, gluten-free, vegan, and children’s options are offered. Enjoy selections like Chilled Niman Ranch braised beef short rib, housemade basil gnocchi, quinoa-cauliflower bites, and peanut butter and jelly sushi rolls (that one’s for the kids but it sounds pretty good to us). Each basket comes with an entrée, salad, snacks, and dessert.

The Logistics
The concerts are held in the Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater, at the base of Deer Valley Resort. Gates open at 4 p.m. (the prime spots fill up fast), and the music plays from 5:30 – 8. Picnics, coolers, glass containers, and dancing are permitted – animals are not. Parking is free.

Mountain Town Music
This non-profit organization exists to “produce, foster, and support live music which enhances the cultural experience for Park City and Summit County residents and visitors.” The majority of its shows are provided free of charge, and the group works year-round to program hundreds of shows, provide workshops to students, to provide networking opportunities for musicians, and to partner with other nonprofits to reach community-driven goals.

Summer’s not going to be fashionably late this year—she’s already sneaking in. The trails are greening up, wildflowers are stretching, and the puffy coats are officially in storage. Who’s ready for long hikes and longer days?
