If you’ve never heard of it, the week was created in 2003 by a high school student in an effort to show off the night sky without the impacts of light pollution. A few things *you* can do to mitigate light pollution, courtesy of International Dark-Sky Association:
- Light only what you need & use light only when you need it
- Use energy-efficient bulbs – and only as bright as you need
- Shield outdoor lights; direct them down.
- Choose warm, white light bulbs.
