Park City's Restaurants Reopen on Ski Resort Time, and the Canyons Side Comes Back First

Park City's fall restaurant calendar follows the ski resorts. A kitchen near Park City Mountain tends to reopen when Park City Mountain opens. A kitchen near Deer Valley waits for Deer Valley. For anyone living off SR-224 near Canyons Village, the closest dinner tables come back about two weeks before the ones across town.

The closure dates below come from the fall roundup the Park City Area Restaurant Association shared through DishingPC on Oct. 19. That guide asks diners to check with each restaurant before going, and that advice applies to everything here.

Where things stand this week

By the last week of October, several of the best-known dining rooms in town have already closed. Courchevel Bistro, at Main Street and Heber Avenue, closed Oct. 24 and plans to reopen in early December. Firewood on Main closed the same day and plans to reopen Dec. 3. The Hirsch, at Goldener Hirsch in Silver Lake Village, closed Oct. 25 and is listed as closed through Nov. 25. The Stein Collection's 7880 Club at Stein Eriksen Residences and Cena Ristorante & Lounge at Chateaux Deer Valley both closed Oct. 26.

Dine About Park City runs through October, with two-course lunches and three-course dinners at more than 30 participating restaurants, so the days left in the month are the last chance to use it.

November 20 matters most on the Canyons side

Park Record reported that Park City Mountain is targeting Friday, Nov. 20 for opening day. Several kitchens are set to come back that same day.

KITA at the Pendry in Canyons Village closes for dinner Nov. 1 through 19 and reopens Nov. 20. Shabu, at 442 Main Street, has the same closure window and the same reopening date. Up the mountain, Red Pine Lodge at the top of the Red Pine Gondola is also scheduled to open Nov. 20, serving food from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., per Park City Mountain's winter 2026/27 hours page.

Shabu sits on Main Street and still reopens with Park City Mountain, while Firewood and Courchevel on the same street stay closed into December.

Canyons Village base dining fills in over the next few weeks. The resort's winter schedule lists these dates:

Date Canyons Village change
Nov. 20 Murdock's Cafe & Pizzeria and Umbrella Bar open Fridays through Sundays; Red Tail Grill and First Tracks Cafe list daily hours
Dec. 4 The Farm opens at the base of the Red Pine Gondola; Murdock's and Umbrella Bar go to daily service; Tombstone Grill opens on the mountain
Dec. 11 First Tracks Cafe in the Grand Summit lobby extends to 6:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
Dec. 12 Sun Lodge opens at the base of Sun Peak Express

The winter schedule starts Nov. 20, so the Red Tail Grill and First Tracks hours shown above apply from opening day forward. Ski-season parking at the base works differently, depending on the date and the time you arrive. Our post on what parking at Canyons Village costs this winter covers it.

Deer Valley's kitchens wait for Deer Valley

Deer Valley has announced Dec. 5 for its public opening, conditions permitting, in a September 16 release. La Stellina, on the first floor of the Snow Park Residences, picks the same day. It closes Nov. 9 and reopens Dec. 5 with nightly service from 5 to 10 p.m.

The Stein Collection comes back earlier. 7880 Club and Cena both reopen Nov. 24. The Glitretind keeps serving dinner nightly from 6 to 9 p.m. with Sunday brunch, and Troll Hallen Lounge stays open daily from 7 a.m. to midnight. At the St. Regis, The St. Regis Bar and Brasserie 7452 run daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. RIME Seafood & Steak serves three meals a day but skips dinner on Nov. 1 and Nov. 8.

Deer Valley Café is listed as open daily from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Carpenter Café and Royal Street Café are closed for the season, and The Brass Tag and The Sticky Wicket are on seasonal breaks. None of those four has published a reopening date.

The biggest new room on that side is still more than a year away. Deer Valley says the Park Peak Lodge dining areas, restaurant and bar will keep building out their interiors through winter 2026–27 and are scheduled to open in winter 2027–28. Our opening-day post covers the terrain side of both resorts' openings.

Nov. 17 to 19 has the fewest open kitchens

Laying all the closure windows side by side shows the busiest overlap. The High West group closes in mid-November. High West Distillery & Tasting Room in Wanship and High West Saloon on Park Avenue are closed Nov. 16 through Dec. 1. The Nelson Cottage by High West, at 651 Park Ave., is closed Nov. 17 through Dec. 2 and reopens Dec. 3.

From Tuesday, Nov. 17 through Thursday, Nov. 19, eleven restaurants with published dates are closed at once:

  • Courchevel Bistro
  • Firewood on Main
  • The Hirsch
  • KITA, for dinner
  • Shabu
  • High West Distillery & Tasting Room
  • High West Saloon
  • The Nelson Cottage by High West
  • 7880 Club
  • Cena Ristorante & Lounge
  • La Stellina

Friday morning, Park City Mountain's lifts start turning, and KITA and Shabu reopen for dinner.

Plenty of dinner is still on offer that week. These are the shoulder-season hours each restaurant shared with the restaurant association:

  1. Grub Steak and LOMA: nightly, 5–9 p.m.
  2. Butcher's Chop House & Bar: daily, 4–10 p.m.
  3. 350 Main and Blind Dog: Tuesday through Saturday, 5–9 p.m.
  4. tupelo Park City: Wednesday through Sunday, 5–9 p.m., until ski season, which covers Wednesday and Thursday of that week
  5. Alpine Distilling Social Aid and Pleasure Club: Tuesday through Saturday, 4–10 p.m.
  6. Flanagan's on Main: lunch and dinner daily
  7. The Glitretind, Brasserie 7452 and RIME: on the Deer Valley side, all open nightly

For something casual, The Spur Bar & Grill is open daily until 1 a.m. with live music every night, and No Name Saloon keeps the same late hours. Closer to the Colony's gate, CHOMP Donuts & Coffee in Kimball Junction serves daily from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Park Record reported in September that the Kimball Junction shop is CHOMP's flagship and would keep running as usual while the company expands to Salt Lake City.

One more Kimball Junction opening may land in this stretch. Park Record reported on Sept. 3 that Koyoté, the Salt Lake City ramen and izakaya restaurant, had leased the former Hana Ramen Bar space and was aiming to open in October, depending on build-out. Check with the restaurant directly before planning around it. Kimball Junction's broader dining scene is covered in our post on the Michelin-backed kitchen that chose Kimball Junction over Main Street.

The reopening sequence, date by date

For residents hosting guests between now and early December, this is the full order of published reopenings:

  • Nov. 20: Park City Mountain's target opening day; KITA dinner, Shabu and Red Pine Lodge return
  • Nov. 24: 7880 Club and Cena reopen
  • Nov. 26 onward: The Hirsch, closed through Nov. 25, has not posted a reopening date
  • Dec. 2: High West Distillery & Tasting Room and High West Saloon come back after a closure that ends Dec. 1
  • Dec. 3: Firewood on Main and The Nelson Cottage reopen
  • Dec. 4: The Farm opens, and Murdock's and Umbrella Bar go daily at Canyons Village
  • Dec. 5: Deer Valley opens to the public, and La Stellina reopens
  • Early December: Courchevel Bistro, no exact date posted

Park City Mountain notes that its operating dates depend on weather and conditions. If opening day moves, the kitchens that plan around it may move too.

If you're planning the first week of the season around family visits or a dinner on the mountain, the Colony Sales Team is happy to share what we know about the Canyons side as opening day gets closer. Schedule a private tour, and we'll gladly talk through where to eat while you're here.
